Olivier Moroni
Associate to Vice-Rector & Responsible for Research Infrastructure & Special Projects / Adjoint à la vice-rectrice et responsable des infrastructures de recherche et des projets spéciauxDr. Olivier Moroni is a seasoned research administrator who has been working at Université Laval since 2010. During his years of service at Université Laval, he has acquired a unique expertise in many aspects of research, such as university-community partnerships, international collaborations, and research chairs including Canada Research Chairs and Canada Excellence Research Chairs. In recent years, he was primarily involved in the development of his Université Laval’s major research infrastructure, including the research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen and two new research stations to be built in Inuit Nunangat, on Baffin Island. He is also an expert in the development of strategic institutional projects, some of which have led to the creation of major new research structures such as Sentinel North and OBVIA. In his current role, he has been actively involved in the governance of several research centres and groups, including Calcul Québec and Calcul Canada, the Interuniversity Research Centre for Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT), and the Quebec Network for Electron Microscopy of Materials (RQMEM). Prior to joining Laval University, he held a management position in a biotechnology company where he was leading research and development and intellectual property.
