Introducing: Inuit Qaujisarnirmut Pilirijjutit

Today the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, Nunavut Tunngavik Inc,. Makivik Corporation, Kativik Regional Government, and the Nunatsiavut Government are pleased to announce a new name for the Inuit Nunangat Research Program: Inuit Qaujisarnirmut Pilirijjutit (Inuit Research Program). This new Inuktut name is crucial in highlighting the uniqueness of this Inuit-led, directed and governed program and in promoting Inuit self-determination in research. The Inuit Qaujisarnimut Pilirijjutit is a research funding program led, directed and governed by Inuit for Inuit.

Save the date for the launch of the second Call for Proposals under the Inuit Qaujisarnimut Pilirijjutit on October 27, 2021, including the application form and guidelines.

A new email address has been created to reflect the program’s new name. Applications and questions about the Inuit Qaujisarnirmut Pilirijjutit should be directed to: IQP@ITK.ca. The INRP@ITK.ca email address will automatically direct inquiries to this new address.

Inuit are encouraged to apply, regardless of research background or experience. To support Inuit interested in applying through this process, ArcticNet and ITK will be hosting a webinar shortly after the release of application materials. Stay tuned for more information.
