ASM2006

ArcticNet’s Third Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM2006) was held from 12 to 15 December 2006 at the Fairmont Empress and Victoria Conference Centre in Victoria, BC.

With over 350 participants, the ASM2006 was a wonderful networking event, providing an excellent occasion for Network Investigators, Post-Doctoral fellows, Graduate Students, Research Staff, Network Partners, Board and Committee Members to meet face-to-face, present research results and hold project and theme workshops.

Over 40 oral presentations and 150 scientific posters from all fields of Arctic research were presented during the meeting, reflecting the high level of multidisciplinarity of ArcticNet research. Evidence of a promising future for Canadian Arctic Research, more than 150 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows attended the Second ArcticNet Student Day and the full meeting. Nine students were awarded prizes for the excellence of their posters and their work.

The ArcticNet Board of Directors, Research Management Committee and Administration Centre would like to thank all the participants, sponsors and exhibitors for their contribution in making this third Annual Meeting such a great success.
