ArcticNet Aircraft Support 2023-24
ArcticNet Aircraft Support 2023-24
Dear ArcticNet Network Investigator (NIs),
ArcticNet is pleased to offer financial support for airlift for your field work again this year.
For the year 2023-24, ArcticNet has budgeted up to $150,000 to help ArcticNet researchers maximize the helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft support needed to conduct their ArcticNet-funded projects. This initiative is developed in close collaboration with aircraft service providers, including the Polar Continental Shelf Program (PCSP) and the Centre for Northern Studies (CEN). ArcticNet will leverage the support secured from these providers by ArcticNet projects, up to a maximum level that will depend on the overall amount requested by ArcticNet NIs this year. The following conditions apply:
(i) Funds will be used to leverage non-NCE aircraft support already received by ArcticNet researchers for their ArcticNet projects and will not fund new applications;
(ii) Funds cannot cover the cost of commercial airfare or accommodation;
(iii) Only projects funded by ArcticNet for the year 2023-24 are eligible.
To apply, please complete and submit the ArcticNet Aircrafts Support Application Form 2023-2024 (and supporting documents) by Monday, April 24, 2023, at 5:00 pm ET. Applications will be evaluated by ArcticNet in consultation with the appropriate logistics provider. A confirmation letter will be sent to applicants the week of May 1, 2023, detailing the maximum level of funding ArcticNet will provide upon successful application. It should be noted that in the majority of cases, ArcticNet funding will be paid directly to the logistics providers and not to NI.
