Unlocking Open Science: Embracing Open Access, Open Data, and Community-Engaged Research

This webinar will provide an overview of open science principles and practices, including key aspects of open access and open data. We will discuss recent and emerging research funding policies as well as the role of data repositories as essential tools for preserving and sharing research findings. Participants will gain insights into Community-Engaged Research reporting guidelines, geared towards fostering collaborative and inclusive practices within the scientific community. The webinar will conclude with a focus on some of the exciting initiatives that the journal Arctic Science is currently undertaking to enhance the reach and relevance of Arctic research at a global scale.

Michael Donaldson is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Canadian Science Publishing. Michael is interested in all aspects of open science and exploring innovative strategies to expedite the transition towards a sustainable and equitable open future.
