An adventurer and passionate advocate for the North, Cedar Swan believes deeply in the power of connection—between people, place, and nature. As CEO of Adventure Canada, she leads a pioneering expedition travel company that brings curious people to some of the most remote and culturally significant regions of the Arctic and sub-Arctic. Cedar’s work blends tourism, education, and advocacy, emphasizing responsible travel as a vehicle for conservation, cultural exchange, and community benefit.
Under her leadership, Adventure Canada has strengthened its role as a platform for Indigenous voices, scientific collaboration, and cross-cultural dialogue. Cedar is particularly engaged in initiatives that support long-term community partnerships, knowledge sharing, and the stewardship of culturally and environmentally significant sites across Inuit Nunangat and beyond.
She is a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, a member of The Explorers Club, and a founding member of Canadian Women for Nature. In 2018, she was named one of Canadian Traveller’s Top 40 Under 40 travel professionals, and in 2020 she received a Citation of Merit from The Explorers Club’s Canadian Chapter for her contributions to exploration and field science.
Cedar lives in Port Credit, Ontario, with her husband, Jason, and their two daughters. She is proud to align her personal and professional life with values rooted in education, sustainability, and respect for the North.
